Since installing the Trend Micro software, my computer is loud every time it's running and uses 20% or more of the processor even when a scan is not currently running. How can I fix this?

Sorry you're having experiencing this after installing our product. Can you check if the processor still runs at 20+% if you're not connected to the internet? Also, can you verify that it is the Trend Micro process that's consuming the CPU? The process name should be "Trend Micro Anti-Malware Solution Platform". A screenshot would be helpful.

We've recently had reports of this same issue, but there're various causes for this. Please provide the info and we can investigate further. Thank you.

Yes, the processor still runs high when not connected to the internet. I ran a virus scan and it seems to be running lower than before (8-12%) but the computer is still loud. The process is Trend Micro.

Thanks for providing the info and screenshot. Common causes of high CPU consumption by Trend Micro process are conflicting software and malware. We have an online document that walks through checking and removing these items to reduce CPU consumption:
Slow pc performance due to high CPU or memory usage of CoreServiceShell.exe

There're quite a few steps to go through in the above document. I recommend trying the following solution doc to remove any unwanted software or adware first:
Removing adware from web browsers

For Step 2, "On the program list, locate and uninstall the application which appears to be an adware", some common adwares are: Ask Toolbar, Open Candy, MySearch, Searchqu, Wajam, and many others. Adwares are typically installed during installation of another freeware, so you might not be aware that it is already on your machine. If following this solution document doesn't bring the Trend Micro CPU % down, then please try steps in the first document.

Performing these steps will take some time. If Trend Micro Anti-Malware Solution Platform CPU % is still high after these steps, please let us know and we'll help you further. Thank you.
