When attempting to open certain PDF's (Fountas and Pinnell resources to name one) as message says "Something is keeping this PDF from opening." This did not happen until I installed Trend Micro, which I prefer over McAfee (the installed software). Please advise if you can. Thank you.
Thank you for reporting this issue. We understand that after installing Maximum Security, you encountered a problem while opening PDF files. We definitely want to help you to solve this issue, so we would like to understand your situation a bit more. The "Something is keeping this PDF from opening" error message looks like it's commonly displayed in Windows 10's Microsoft Edge Browser, though we're not 100% sure. Just to confirm: 1. Which browser(s) are you using to read the PDFs? (e.g. Microsoft IE11, Microsoft Edge, etc.) 2. Do you have PDF plug-ins enabled for your browser(s)? 3. What other websites are you trying to access PDFs?
Though we cannot provide more precise solutions before we receive more info. However, the following are possible work-around solutions: 1. Use Internet Explorer 11 to open PDF files in websites 2. Right-click on the PDF links you're trying to access, and right-click and choose "Save target as..." to download the PDF to your PC, and open the PDF file using a PDF reader (e.g. Adobe) 3. Try using another browser -- Google Chrome, Firefox, etc. 4. Add the PDF websites to the Trend Micro Security Exception List: Configuring the Exception List of Trend Micro Security software
