Cannot install updates to my computer or open Quickbooks without uninstalling Trend Micro.

I am having a huge issue with this Internet Security.  Everytime my computer goes to reboot after updates, I have to wait so that all the updates can be undone. Restart takes almost 30 minutes.   I cannot open my Quickbooks.  If I uninstall Trend Micro, everything works fine.
I have an ASUS N56V.  I am using Trend Micro Internet Security.

Welcome to the Home Users Community, mjnettles.

Please try adding the folder where QuickBooks files are saved to the Trend Micro program's Exception List. Right now, our senior engineers already collected enough information and our developers will then provide fundamental solution for this issue - it's possible that the solution will be bundled with the program updates.

Let us know if the issue persists.

Regards,

I did as instructed.  It did not work.  I have to uninstall and reinstall Trend Micro every time I want to open Quickbooks.  This will not be able to go on for to long before I'll have to try other solutions. :-(

Sorry, mjnettles. May I ask the location of the folder that you added on Trend Micro exception list? Usually, Quickbooks files are saved on Documents folder (separated from the programs folder). Also, please send us the version of your Quickbooks program for us to take note.

Thank you!

The QB is in the documents folder.  C:\Users\Melissa Nettles\Documents\QB Data\MJN_160926\CompanyFile.  I am using the Premier Contractor Edition 2016.
