Can't install - “Too Many Installations” warning message

Hi, I’m using Trend Micro Maximum Security, and I have just tried to install on a 3rd PC but failed — got a Too Many Installations window. I’m pretty sure I only have 2 PCs running your software and that I can use up to 3 computers. What do I do now? It’s asking me to enter a password.

Thanks for contacting. To help other customers find this post easier on the internet, I have updated your post title. Hope you don't mind.

I understand that you tried installing on a 3rd PC and the "Too Many Installations" message was displayed. I'm afraid this means that all 3 seats for your license have been taken. It's possible that you have another PC that has Maximum Security installed.

For your question, in the "Too Many Installations" window, please enter your Trend Micro Account password and click Next, and the window will guide you through how to disable a seat so your current installation could continue. You may refer to the link below for detailed steps:
“Too Many Installations” error message appears when activating Trend Micro Security

Also, you may use your Trend Micro Account to check/add/remove devices covered by your Maximum Security. You may refer to the help doc below and follow the steps provided:
Deleting previous Trend Micro installations in your Trend Micro Account (MyAccount)
You will be able to see all the PCs that has Maximum Security installed.

Thank you Linda! It turned out my son had an old laptop that he tried installing my trend micro software and took up a seat. I tried installing again with the steps and got past the password screen to move the 3rd seat, and install finished without any problem. You were great help!

Please do not change my question as you are incorrect I have a contract from Trend clearly stating I'm entitled to 4 devices... NOT 3. If that is an error by Trend I will have to reconsider my package when it's due for renewal.If it's not an error please rectify as I want 4 devises covered.
