Broardband connection problem?

acer laptop - Telstra Elite modem on mobile broardband.
I notice that we can not connect to the network and the modem remains "disconnected" if your icon is in "downloading update" even though at this point we are off line. Is this normal?

Thanks for letting us know this issue. The issue you are encountering definitely doesn't sound normal. When Trend Micro Security is downloading update, it might make the computer slower, but not influence the connection of Internet.

So let's isolate to make sure the issue is not due to your mobile broadband. Please check when you manually update Trend Micro Security, how's the Internet work after connecting wireless LAN/cable? And after confirming, reconnect mobile broadband and check if the problem still persists.
