Hello alanfsweet ! Welcome to the community!

We understand that you are having troubles with the ads that you are encountering when you are browsing the Internet. Allow me to share my ideas with this matter.

Mostly, websites profit from the advertisements that they are posting. As much as we would like to get rid of all of them, it is mainly controlled by the website's administrator. What we can only on our end is to detect and block the sites that are malicious coming from those ads.

Rest assured that the Trend Micro program is designed with real time scan to battle these type of threats.

This happens in email, as I said in my post, when I am trying to open an email.  Is that controlled by a website administrator?   Then it is microsoft that is cause of this?  That is what you are saying.

Hello alanfsweet !

May we know if you can recall providing your email address on any commercial sites or other means of signing up on a certain online promotion of any kind? These types of marketing scheme may be one of the causes why you are receiving these spam emails.

If you can check the email content (please do not download any attachment or any link provided unless you are familiar with them), some of them contains a button to unsubscribe to their receiver's or news letter list.

Furthermore, may I know what email application are you using? If you are using any web based email services, we may have problems with that as the Trend Micro AntiSpam Toolbar is only compatible with Outlook.

Hope this helps.
