I am running Windows 10 version 1803. In All Settings --> System --> About, it shows that my PC is protected but Virus and Threat Protection is not checked.

In Windows Defender Security Center, there is an exclamation mark ("!") and Virus and threat protection status is unavailable.

How do I enable my version of Trend Micro Maximum Security in my Windows 10? Is my system being protected?

-I'm not a Trend Micro representative, but I like to give you some suggestions-

Hello Andrew,
how are You?

Please, check at All Settings --> Threat and Security (I think, I do not have ENG Win) --> Windows Security --> Open Windows Defender Security Center

Check if Virus & Threat Protection redirect You on TM main software.

Is TM running prorperly on Your Task Bar?

An easy way to check if TM is working properly is to check EICAR sample file to check if it is blocked properly by TM.
Check at EICAR in Google to donwload and check a sample file.
Do not worry, it is absolutely secure, but it will test if Your AV platform is running properly.

Let me know.

Hi, @andrew!

Thank you for your post and welcome to the community!

It is normal to have Windows Defender disabled when you have Trend Micro Security running. This also applies when you have a different antivirus program other than Trend Micro Security. Rest assured you are still protected.

We just want to make sure that your Trend Micro software is running properly and is enabled.
To do this, please refer below for the different ways to check if the program is running on your computer:

1. Click on the Trend Micro icon on the lower right corner of your screen (sometimes located in the system tray or hidden icons) and select "Open the Main Console". If the program says "Protected", it is running properly.
2. Hover your mouse over the Trend Micro icon on the bottom right of the screen - the status should say "Protected by Trend Micro Maximum Security".
3. Open the Trend Micro program - check if the status is "Protected".

If the above conditions are met, your computer is protected.

Please let us know if this helped.
Thank you!

Sincerely,
Nicole

Dear Max and Nicole,

My Trend Micro status still shows "Protected" despite the warning messages from Windows Defender showing "Actions recommended".

Your replies have assured me that Trend Micro Maximum Security is protecting my system despite these warnings. I thank you for you time to reply to my concerns.

Again, I thank you for your quick and accurate response to my inquiry. I will undoubtedly be renewing my subscription for Trend Micro services.

Yours sincerely,
Andrew
