Access Violation

I have recently renewed my subscription & now I am unable to open my accounting program. I have not tried since I renewed my subscription so it may just be a coincidence. I am receiving an error message which says 'An Error has occurred during start-up. Access Violation and the program will terminate'. Would the anti-virus be blocking this program in any way?? Thanks
