Blocking incoming e-mail from approved sender.  Micro Trend converts message to text and puts in Junk folder.  No attachments.  Comes through on another computer running McAfee.  No issues or threats with e-mail

Hi @lisagott, sorry for the inconvenience caused.

For your issue, we assume this happens because the content of the email header is too big. Example: too many receivers or too many attachments. Trend Micro Security has a default limit to the header content. When the header content reached this limit, you will be notified via email.

The original email will be renamed as "original.txt" and will be attached to the email notification. You can change the header content limit by modifying the registry. You can check out this article for step by step directions on how to do it:
Calendar invites and email messages with more than 10 attachments are converted to text files

Please let us know if the solution works for you. If you're still seeing the message from Trend Micro, please provide a picture of the message, we'll be glad to assist you. Thanks.

There are NO attachments.  The header is probably large.  I am not able to edit the registry values.    Tried doing that for each of the files you noted in the right hand panel of the registry under the folder tree.  The error I receive for each says (with it's own filename), "Cannot edit HdrPerEnt: Error Writing the Value's New Contents.

Hi @lisagott, sorry that you were not able to edit the registry values.

For your situation, we would like to suggest that you reinstall Trend Micro Security to the latest version to fixing this issue. You can refer to the link below for detailed steps:
Reinstalling the latest version of Trend Micro Security program

If the problem persists, please follow the steps in support page below to apply the hotfix:
[Hotfix] Dangerous Email blocked message from Trend Micro Security

After using the Hotfix, please reboot your computer to check if the problem is solved.

It's quite a few steps to perform but please do let us know if the above procedures work for you. Thanks.

I downloaded and installed the latest version of the software from the link provided.  That worked fine.

However, when I tried the second link in an attempt to download the hotfix, the link takes me to a download page.  When I click on the download, I end up getting a time out error.

I can confirm that downloading the latest version and installing it has not resolved the problem.  Can you provide a valid link to the Hotfix fix.

Sorry that the solution didn't work for you.

Though we are able to download the Hotfix on the support page, if you still can't download from the support page I provided last time, please give the below link a try!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Your security software protected you from a risky message.

Incoming message (from approved/safe sender) sent to Junk Folder and converted to text. "Your security software protected you from a risky message" is put into the "subject" field and the sender is noted as Trend Micro.

Re-installed latest version of Trend Micro Maximum Security, which did not solve the problem.
