"windows has found the zeus virus"

I have received a message that says "windows has found the zeus virus" and it directs me to call a 1-800 number for technical support.  I read that this is adware.  Why didn't TM prevent it? and what do I do to get rid of it?

We understand that you had troubles with a sudden notification that you have received informing you that your computer is infected.

"Computer Infected" Scam

Mostly, this types of scams comes from unwanted advertisements that are posted on a website that you are visiting. They might have disguised themselves as a link to a news article or anything that might have caught your attention. These types of threats are embedded or posted on the site itself that visitors may unintentionally have clicked on. 

To avoid these types of problem, we would like to advice that you visit only the sites that you are familiar with and avoid clicking on every advertisements that you see online.
