[Latest Update] "Restart Required" and "Connect to the Internet" message appears on your Trend Micro Security software

Since the release of our latest updates, some issues have been reported – “Restart Required” and “Connect to the Internet” error messages – that our developers are working to resolve.

In the meantime, please run the following hotfixes in the links below: 
If still experiencing the same issue/s after following the instructions, let us know and we'll help you further.

So there is no need to deinstall TM product before to run Remnant File Remover?

When I execute the Remnant File Remover Tool it sticks at a "permission" line and the OK box won't respond to keystrokes. Now what?

Try followiing:
1- on the downloaded file right click and go in Properties. In 'General' tab check if Blocked is enabled. In this case click Unblock and Apply.
2- Execute the file by right click and select 'run as administrator'.

The display says installing update, then stops.  While installing, it says "last update 27 May".  After that update, I was told to restart.  When this update stops, the icon disappears from the bottom tool-bar and nothing else happens.  Operating system is Windows 10.

Why does your anti-virus turn itself off? I have been a customer for many years, noticing an odd problem when starting up my desktop: Windows flags an alert that the anti-virus (yours) is turned off. This is occurring with more frequency during the past year. Can anyone tell me why?

My Trend Micro keeps turning off while I'm using the computer (PC with Windows 8). It has nothing to do with startup or shutdown. I just randomly notice messages telling me that it's off and asking if I want to start it.  I start it and then later I get the same thing.

Since an update on 30/5/2018, Trend MMS 2017 keeps switching off and computer gives warning. On restarting Trend, message installing update received and for a while Protected icon appears.After a time Trend switches itself off and repeats cycle.Why??

My Trend Micro Software on this 64 bit Windows 10 computer keeps trying to do an update, and informing me I need to do a restart to finish the update. However, when I do a restart, It does not complete the installation, and tells me I need to do another restart. I have restarted the computer several times no, and the update is not completing. What do I need to do now?

The last couple of days I've been getting pop-ups telling me my virus protection was out of date and I needed to connect with the internet to update. I've been connected with the internet for the whole time. Problem since the last W10 update? Dell Inspiron desktop, W10, Trend Maximum security

I keep getting alerts that my anti-virus is not up to date... these come in the form of Windows error boxes as my laptop is powering up and when I am connected to the internet via a Trend Micro Alert.

Problems with all 3 issues. Just spent the last 2 1/2 hrs., trying to figure out what's going on here? I thought these issues were automatically done in the background, but these issues have been going on for months now, *Auto Update, *Trend Turned Off, *Searching for Internet Connection. From what I'm reading quite a few subscribers are having the same issues & Replies from Trend are telling US the users this is OUR job to FIX. At this point doesn't TREND SEE THIS AS A PROBLEM ON THEIR END & NOT THE USER? What is TREND DOING to FIX THESE ISSUES? Thank You.

Sorry for experiencing this issue. The only problem is that the program does not recognize the intended updates are already applied; hence, receiving the error message. There are also other things that may cause this same error... that's why we should also do some normal troubleshooting with the help of you guys. Sometimes this may be caused by a potentially unwanted program or conflicting security software, etc.

I think this is a new post on an old topic, so bear with me. I have Trend Micro installed on three computers in our home. On "one" of the three computers the Trend Micro box tells me I need to connect to the internet and I have a "yellow" scan button. I also get nearly constant pop up's that tell me I need to connect to the internet and down load updates. When I do this nothing changes. I don't believe the updates have down loaded, plus the Trend Micro box never changes from yellow to green. I have tried the fixes found on google search but nothing has worked. Other than is issue, my computer function perfect both on and off the internet. What next???
