Is trend micro security a subsidiary of Digital River Ireland? I have just seen that a sum of money has been removed from my account in the name of Digital River Ireland, Sydney and a search of the web seem to suggest that this name is suspicious!!

Digital River Ireland handle payments and invoicing for many companies, including Trend.

They are what I would call "sharp" and are too eager to process payments and too slow to provide refunds.

TIPS:  Always pay using a credit card then you have protection ( as the contract is with the credit company and Digital River and not you - Credit companies have the time and resources and clout to deal with refunds).

It is a shame that Trend have chosen to deal with DRI, and I have been a victim of their overpriced renewals policy but as I say, use a credit card to pay and you'll be protected.

unfortunately i updated my Trend via Digital River island, my credit card details were used immediately for an online shopping spree!

Auto-renewal is prompted at time of purchase and can be turned off at any time. You may have activated auto-renewal at time of purchase. Trend Micro does not take funds out of a customer's account without their permission.

I can see that the refund you've been requested is already in process. You may contact your bank for follow up.
