[Beta] There are the following limitations on the new function "Fraud Buster".

  • "Fraud Buster" feature works only with Google Chrome browser.
  • The "Fraud Buster" feature only applies to the following browser emails:
Please note that we do not work with other browser emails.
    Google Inc.    Gmail
    Microsoft Inc. Outlook.com

If the "simple HTML format" function of Gmail is enabled, the "Fraud Buster" feature will not work.

The "Fraud Buster" feature allows you to scan dangerous content in your emails.

Will the Fraud Buster also be available for Outlook desktop (Office365) and German-language e-mails in the future?

Good day!

I have raised this concern of yours to our Product Team. Unfortunately they will not support Fraud Buster for desktop office and for German language emails. We will do take note of this feedback for now.

Thank you very much.

I cannot turn on the Enable Fraud Buster link when in Chrome but if I open Gmail then I am able to click the link to turn it on then.

Hi Suzy,

It is expected scenario for "Enable Fraud Buster" option to be enabled when there will be a logged in account on the Chrome browser.

1. Access mail.google.com.
2. Log in your account.
3. Once logged in, click on TM toolbar then hover on Enable Fraud Buster.

Hope this address your concern. Thank you and have a nice day!

In-browser (let alone only one browser) only functionality is a severe limitation, and having to scan emails manually and individually is a very clunky procedure.

I would certainly not use this in  it's current form.

Hi darkhorseprod,

Thank you very much on your feedback. Please check our comments below:

1. "In-browser (let alone only one browser) only functionality is a severe limitation" - Product Team are already considering other browser to support this feature. We are still on the process reviewing this feature request. We will take note of this.

2. Having to scan emails manually and individually is a very clunky procedure. - Fraud Buster have auto detection feature. If there has any threat, it will show a detected message before opening the mail. As for the scan button available inside the mail, it is used to let user have an option to manual scan the mail.

Hope this address your concern. Have a great day ahead.

I would prefer the Fraud Buster Security Scan button to be at the top of the email not the bottom. Often I scan read the top of emails and having this available there would prompt me more often to check the details - or report when there is a false report.

Hi Vince Marsters,

Thank you very much for your suggestion with the Trend Micro Fraud Buster feature. That is indeed a good suggestion for enhancing the feature. Rest assured, I will submit this as a feature enhancement on our end. But, I cannot guarantee if they will implement it before the software's release though.

Regards,

I'd like the scan button on top as well because it's annoying having to scan every email separately. If the button was on top it may make it a little easier.
Is it going to be extended to other email programs like Thunderbird?

Hi Suzy,

Thank you very much for the feedback. We will take note of this.

On your inquiry if it can be extended on email programs like Thunderbird, as of now, we are still reviewing this feature request if its possible for the next iteration.

Thank you very much.
