update notices

My Trend micro has a message that there is an update available every time I use my computer and when I check it says it is up to date.  Why is this happening and what can I do to stop it?

This answer is simply not correct. I have the same problem, I get the popup, I click on update and it installs an update then says I have the latest protection. I just checked and my release is 17.7.1206. 

Please fix this before I decide to remove your software because it is driving me crazy.

Having the same problem, as well.  Installed the update three days ago, now get nagged every three or four hours for an update.  Please make this stop, or give us a solution, or uninstall will follow.

Hi steverohde,

 

Can you try to restart the Trend Micro components and test if the issue is still there? Kindly try to follow the steps below on how to restart the Trend Micro application.

 

1. On your keyboard, press and hold together the Windows key + R key.

2. In the open field, type supporttool and hit Enter or click OK. This will open the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit.

3. Go to C(Uninstall) tab.

4. Click number 5, after a minute click number 2 and 3.

5. Wait for another minute, and click number 4.

6. Open the Trend Micro program and check if the issue persists.

My problem is exactly the same as steverohde discribes, even the same version number.  Today the problem is not showing up but if it  does I will follow your instructions tm_angelo
