trend micro solution platform

hi, ever since the recent update version 17.7.1764, the trend micro solution platform has been promptly using up 98% of the ram which i contantly need to restart the pc. i tried uninstall n reinstall, after awhile it starts to using up the ram and my desktop is unusable. my total ram is 32gb

Hey,
Welcome to our community.
Go to Start, Programs, Trend Micro and launch "Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit"
Click the "C" tab click the "5 button" and wait a few minutes.
Click the "'4 button", wait for the icon to appear again. Open the Main Console and click the Account tab and click the "About the Software" submenu. If all goes well, he will download the latest software.
I hope this solves the problem.

Hi @tom_emmelot​, thanks for the advice. i tried the steps that you mentioned, the software version still remain same as ver 17.7.1764.

Great news! Here's the fix for High Memory usage when using Trend Micro Solution for Windows Devices, run the hotfix from this Help Center page High CPU and Memory Usage when Trend Micro program is ON.

Where did you get .1764?  Mine is still showing .1634.

I remember when .1764 was offered, but pretty sure that they pulled it due to a problem.

We have a multi-PC licence, many years-old now.

All on 17.7 on Auto-Update, but some stay on .1634 (even after UnInstall/Re-Install...) and others moved to .1764 at their Auto-Updates in recent weeks....   I've not found a way to Manually-Force Auto-Update to move from .1634 on all our PC.  There must a a problem somewhere... ?

@trend_37f976​ Our .1764 have now become .1783 BUT our .1634 retain that version & only updating the MAPs.  All same Licence-number on a multi-PC with autoUpdate... ??!?

Still .1634 version here(EU region). Somewhat interesting, if TM pull newest updates to other regions before, for example, EU region.

The auto upgrade is still running and will be deployed on all PC  with Trend Micro Security.

The build depends on the region. Here are the current new install versions/builds. For Australia and New Zealand, the build is 17.7.1764. For other regions, the current build is  17.7.1634.

This is a UK multi-PC "Maximum", but some Auto-updated to .1764 & those have now all become .1783 BUT our .1634 retain that version & are only updating the MAPs.  All same Licence-number on a multi-PC with AutoUpdate... Trying the Hot-Fix & Uninstall/restart/download/Reinstall of .1634 will AutoUpdate-MAP OK, but fail to AutoUpdate those versions which are on .1634 ??!?

For further investigation, we need additional info. Where did you download the installer used in reinstalling the app? And also, a screenshot of the "About the software" page of your Trend Micro Maximum Security program.

I don't understand, why EU region users does not get the same update? Why EU region users are in a different position in this matter? I've testing a alot of different AV solutions and TM is only one, that delay region based updates. I don't like that attitude at all.

The different build version is Trend Micro’s regular practice to ensure the release quality, it is also an industry practice in a massive roll out plan.

The build version difference represents the package. Different package means customized features to meet regional standards, where the security and protection features remain the same for all versions.
