Shutting up the Trendmicro's ads and annoying messages.
At my previous place of work we were using a corporate version of TrendMicro. I had no complains.
So when moved to a new startup, I ordered a pair of retail TrendMicros..
And it is something unbelivable, awful, annoying. I would prefer to infect my PC with a whole zoo of viruses and spamware, just to make TrendMicro stop its pop-ups!
Every freaking minute TrendMicro interrupts my work with some stupid notification, AND THIS CANNOT BE DISABLED!
There is a "Mute mode" ( サイレントモードin Japanese localization), it is the same as English according to the manual.
But there is a timer, which disables the silent mode.
I guess, in corporate version it was permanently enabled by default for not offending business customers.
But why does TrendMicro treat private customers as ENEMIES?
There are registry keys that controls... automatic disabling of the Mute mode!
HKLM\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\UniClient\0\Scheduler\TaskQuietModeForceOff
HKLM\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\UniClient\0\Scheduler\TaskFeedbackMuteModeSettings
These keys are hooked by the antivirus and changing them is not possible.
So it is made intentionally.
Honestly, I will throw it away and buy a ESЕТ from the next year budget; I have it at home and it informs me ONLY about active threats, and nothing else.

Turn off TM first and after that modify (not delete) the registry keys. I did it for "update" registry key, from 10min to 3 min

Try configuring mute mode for longer period. Also I have read somewhere that while installing Trend Micro checking up the box for "make trend micro's notification more relevant" helps in dealing with popups etc.

Claudi, thanks! It released the registry. Wery interesting, because neither ESET, nor Norton release their registry keys untill uninstalled. A weak security system driver?
The above registry keys did not have an effect/
But I found HKLM\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\UniClient\1700\QuietMode. Now I am trying to tamper numbers there.
>Try configuring mute mode for longer period.
UI allows max 24 hours of pleasure putting it to mute mode. However, on practice it is automatically disabled every day on some irrelevant events.
