Reinstalling and Restart Required

Hello all: I had the same problem as silverspirit007 in his post 5 months ago. After the upgrade I was in a perpetual reinstall and restart loop. The difference was that the remedies suggested by tm_kath did not work for me. Ultimately only the sledgehammer approach worked. I went into the registry (regedit.exe; only for administrators) searched for "Trend Micro" and "TrendMicro" and deleted every entry that matched.  At the reinstall, I opted for the trial version first. Now my Trend Micro is back in operation.

Manual deletion of Trend Micro files on the registry is the next step if the Trend Micro Remnant File remover tool and manual deletion of Trend Micro folders didn't work.

We're glad you were able to resolve the issue by initially deleting the Trend Micro files on the registry.
