Pay Guard fault in continuously opening IE windows

System: Windows 10; Microsoft Edge browser; all up to date including TM but just recently Pay Guard is repeatedly opening windows and essentially is not functioning all all as intended; I know PG opens in IE but until recently this did not pose a problem as both browsers were installed on the desktop but now this constant opening defeats functionality; any fixes?
