Installation incomplete

Hi all, i used trend micro before and for some reason i forgot to reinstall it, however i decided to upgrade trend micro and for some reason i keep uninstalling and reinstalling and nothings working

Hello @chrisc_l ,

The issue seems to be leftovers from a previous uninstallation and can be easily resolved using the Trend Micro Remnant Remover.

Please follow this article to download and use the utility:

Once you have ran the tool, kindly try and reinstall the product.

thanks for your reply however i have tried this multiple times and for some reason it isnt working, is there another way?

Thank you for the suggestion bvasilev, after running the Remnant remover you will need to install the permission tool and run it before installing the Trend Micro software.

Hi, chrisc_l.

 

You can try to clean reinstall your Trend Micro program. Please follow the steps below:

 

1. Log onto your computer using an account with administrator privileges.

 

2. Check and delete all Trend Micro folders and files manually in the following locations:
   ○ Program Files
   ○ Program Data
   ○ AppData

3. Delete Temp and %temp% files

4. Empty the Recycle Bin.

5. Run the Remnant File Remover Tool.

6. After that, restart your computer then reinstall Trend Micro Internet Security.
