Identified Spam emails return back

Hi,

I use Outlook mail client and receive spam emails which are well filtered by TM. I notice that when I mark messages as Spam (from the Trend Micro add-on plugin) the related emails are sent to spam@cs.trendmicro.com and they return back with an error - Can this be fixed?

Below is the mail delivery error:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: FW: Social media strategy video

Sent: 4/13/2021 10:43 PM

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

spam@cs.trendmicro.com on 4/13/2021 10:44 PM

Server error: '451 Temporary local problem - please try later'

Thanks

Hi, Nabeel Mansoor

Welcome to Trend Micro Home Users Community.

We are already aware of this case and the reason why the messages return back is that the email spam@cs.trendmicro.com no longer exists.

New email addresses have been assigned for this case. Please see details below:

For reporting spam emails (detected as legit) send these to:
spam@support.trendmicro.com

For reporting legitimate mails (false detection) send these to:
false@support.trendmicro.com

For any clarifications feel free to message us again.

Thank you

Hi,

Is there a way I can add these new addresses or will a new update be issued correcting this?

Thanks

Hi,

I seem to be overwhelmed with desktop spam emails these days. I'm not sure why TM is not filtering the spam emails. The outlook plugin is present but spam does not seem to be filtered. The spam settings seems all ok. I hope TM team can check on this.

Thanks

Hi muhammadnabeelmansoor,

Can you try these steps?

  1. What email protocol are you using in Outlook?
    • To check: On OUTLOOK > FILE > INFO > ACCOUNT SETTINGS
  2. What's your current Trend Micro version on your device?
  3. Turn to turn off the Antispam Toolbar then re-enable it from the main console:

a. Open the Trend Micro console > Settings

Settings

b. Click Internet & Email Controls > Spam & Emailed Files > untick Filter out unsolicited advertisements and other unwanted email messages

Tick Filter Out Advertisements

c. Click Apply & OK once done. Restart Trend Micro then re-enable the Antispam toolbar by ticking the option in Spam & Emailed Files again.

d. Please monitor your emails within 24-48 hours for any difference.

Hi,

I just noticed under Component Version Anti Spam is not displayed. Should I reinstall TM?

Concerning the advise, once I untick the spam option, should I restart my computer and then re-tick it again?

Hi muhammadnabeelmansoor,

Please try the provided steps I included from the previous reply then if it doesn't work out, try reinstalling Trend Micro Security by following this guide:
