How to turn off annoying Website Blocked pop up message

I do not want to see a pop up every time Trend Micro blocks a website.  I do not want to unblock the websites, I just want the message to stay in the background and not pop up on top of whatever I am doing.  In most cases I do not have to acknowledge the pop up in order to continue with what I'm doing.

Hi labudkm ! Welcome to Trend Micro Community!

Can you provide us the exact pop-up messages or the website link that the Trend Micro is detecting? For us to check it.

If you really trust the website that the Trend Micro is detecting you may add it on the exception list or you can enable the mute mode which will temporarily stop non-critical notifications while you are doing an important task.

You may click this link on how to use the Mute Mode.

Have a great day!

The mute mode is ridiculous.  You can only mute up to 24 hours. I want to stop the continual pop-ups while I am browsing.  I don't need to know every two seconds that Trend is doing its job!  Stop the pop-ups! Also, for it to take over when I am typing is ridiculous!  I have had it.

Also, stop asking about screenshots!  YOU know exactly what these threads have been complaining about for over 3 years. We don't want to see the constant pop-ups for every website we visit. We don't need to know that Trend is working every 2 seconds. I know it is working.  FIX IT!

Hi tthomasbeenyrn,

Welcome to Trend Micro Home Users Community!

Mute Mode is used to stop less important pop-ups from interrupting you while working or playing games on Windows PC.

To better assist you with this, may we know the message of Trend Micro from the pop-ups you received?

Awaiting your response.

Well, here we go again. Is this the go to message for all of you?  I said, you KNOW the pop-up messages. It is stopping me every two seconds. The pop-up will not go away until I click "ok" and on top of that, it takes over so whatever I am typing, it doesn't type.  This is a nuisance.

I shouldn't have to click on MUTE MODE every hour or every day!

I am attaching the message only because if I don't you or Trend won't do anything about the pop-ups.

As you can see below, it IS JUST A NOTIFICATION THAT TREND IS BLOCKING THE TRANSFER OF INFORMATION.  Is this really necessary?  Isn't Trend supposed to be doing this? Isn't this why I pay for it?  Why do you have to let me know what you are doing every step I take?  I DON'T!

Get rid of the pop-ups and insert the feature to turn off these stupid notifications.  I should only be seeing notifications where ACTION is required.

GET RID OF THESE! Notifying us that TREND is doing the job is not necessary!

hi @tthomasbeenyrn,

trend micro security has different pop-ups for different detection, we need this information so we can give you a better advise. the fastest way is to give us a screenshot.

but regardless of detection, we have to remove what's causing it, that would ultimately stop the pop-ups. mute mode, in normal situation should stop the notifications. if it doesn't that means whatever is causing the pop-up is persistent in your system.

from your screenshot, we can try to modify the info you put on Data Theft Prevention settings under Credit Card, for example instead of 4 digits change it to 8 digits and observe if the issue persists.

As I said, I do not want to add any web sites to the exception list.  And I have already tried the mute function which does not stop the pop ups.  I have read through the other posts and find that others find this unstoppable pop up objectionable and they always get the same answer you just gave me.  The only way to stop it is to turn off the parental controls but that sort of defeats the purpose of the program doesn't it.  I have been a user for many years and this did not happen until recently.  Will you please state whether or not you intend to remedy this?

Hi labudkm

The current version of the program does not allow the removal of this pop-up as other users find this helpful. We'll be saving your feedback but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that this change will be implemented on our future releases.

@tm_x  in other words , you don't know how to fix the programme glitch trend created but for months have been providing unhelpful information to users , only to frustrate us all.  Agree with user manipicao, the popup interrupts whatever you are working on and you have to click back to the App/field every time. Very annoying.

Maybe we can make it so the pop up is way smaller and not so intrusive.  Maybe you don't have to keep clicking ok to keep working on your project?  maybe a tiny notification that doesn't block your workspace and interrupt your "flow"?  Definitely an issue when I'm mixing music.

I am having the same problem. If it's the same website that is being blocked why can't it just block that website after 3 times and not have the popup?

Hi, markkosman

You can also try to add the website in the exception list or you may try to delete your web browser history and cache then restart your computer and check if the pop-up will still appear on your computer.

For now, we'll take into consideration all the above-mentioned feedback in order to provide quality service.

Thank you,
-TM_JD

None of those solutions work.  I clear my browsing history every time I leave the internet.  Why would I want to continue to clear a browser for visiting my work websites or when I am shopping or browsing the news.  How about TREND gives us the feature to turn off NON-actionable notifications?

I don't need to see that Trend is doing its job.

go to settings on your web browser, cookies and site permissions, and look for the one that is triggering trend to go crazy. That was happening to me and it was blocking something that I accidently allowed site permission on.

Hope this helps

Please take their request in consideration.  I too am having the same problem. I believe it just started in the last 30 days or so.  I really do not remember it being this annoying before then.  It pops up numerous times a day for the same website.

Thanks,

BJ

I too am experiencing the exact issue with unwanted popups for the same website constantly.

The main offending website is;    https://agafurretor.com

Pleas look into this as it is becoming increasingly unproductive and annoying, thank you.

Crikey, does anyone in TM support read through the threads? This solution DOES NOT WORK. I have TM sending me a pop up message constantly throughout my work day for a site that it has blocked - www.agafurretor.com - I want it blocked but I do not want a constant reminde popping up that is has been blocked. I do not belive you have clients who want to this warning message to appear dozens of a times a day! It does appear to a be a new issue - please fix it.

There seems to be a lack of communication here. The first issue is, agafurettor.com is caused by adware so why doesn't Trend Micro remove the offending adware from my computer? The second issue is, users want Trend Micro to block access to agafurettor.com but they don't want interruptive popups saying that Trend Micro has done this. You are just antagonising customers. Please block the access and record this so that I can search the records at a time that is convenient to me, otherwise Trend Micro itself is behaving like a virus.

Seriously TM-anyf***ingbody - get rid of this absolutely pointless and 'about to dump TM in the bin for good' pop-up. Is this website something TM sponsors or uses for advertising themselves? Is this a case of symbiotic marketing? Is that what it is??? Are Agafurretor.com paying TM in some way?

We all hate the notification saying you blocked the same site.  Just block it with no notification.  In one hour I have seen the same .com site blocked 21 times.  Where is the button to turn off notifications on messages?

I have done clear everything and no luck.  This is so annoying that I can see people changing.  21 clicks an hour for knowing you blocked a site is not right for loyal customers.  This started after an update and never did it before.  Fix it before I leave in one month if still tired of reading this clicking it and having it block what I am reading or trying to click on things. Thank you for your time.

I have the same issue and here is a picture of the pop up,  which I may add is the same pop up whether I click OK or whether I use mute mode.  It eventually pops up again and again and interrupts my work and I would sincerely rather this happen in the background instead of phishing for the plaudits it appears to be doing.

It is really unbelievable reading these comments. Any normally intelligent person would see that Trend Micro's desperate wish to notify its customers of the wonderful job it's doing is in fact the problem. Like everyone else, I want Trend Micro to quietly do its job in the background and only notify me when it comes across something it can't handle on its own. The way it works now is like a Labrador puppy desperately slobbering all over the computer. I recently re-installed and I'm getting these constant nagging notifications. I want to switch them off entirely. Not for just a few hours. I don't have screenshots of any problems because the problem is Trend Micro's nagging. It is constantly notifying me that everything's fine. Good. Stop notifying me about it!

I too am fed up with Trend Micro self advertising. It really is time someone of authority decided to do away with all these pop ups.  Just let Trend micro do its job quietly in the background.  Just one instance.  Whenever I disconnect from a USB port, a notice tells me that i've disconnected from a USB port. I do know.  I don't need telling.  On my mobile, I've had to disconnect the notifications, because they stay on the mobile too long and often obscure my keyboard.  Does anybody with influence ever read these comments?

By coincidence, I've just had another pop up whilst writing this.  This is my first year with Trend Micro and quite honestly, if this goes on and nothing is done, I may well find another program that just runs quietly in the background. and doesn't bother me like some anxious employee trying to impress their boss!

It was an advertisement for your cleaning app;  but that's not the point and I'm not sure that anyone at Trend Micro gets it.  Telling us what's happening when we don't need to know, that's the point.  It's particularly annoying with the mobile app.  I've turned off the notifications and still Trend micro keeps telling me what a wonderful job it's doing, obscuring my keyboard for a start.  For goodness sake, please pass this thread over to the people who design the software and those who conduct policy.  All we what to know is whether we have a virus or land on a  bad website.  All the rest is flim flam.  It's counterproductive and simply truns us away from your product.

Like the post below, I too am getting an annoying Website Blocked pop up message that I have to click on to keep working. Mute mode is not the answer. Like the others below, I need Trend Micro to block annoying sites but do it in background and not notify me every time it has done its job. If there is an exception website, I will manually add it to the exceptions list. I see no posts have been made regarding solving this issue. Can anyone pls advise on a solution?
