Cannot remove highlight

I have done all the steps possible, but the "toggle" is nowhere. I even have the most current update. I just want to change the color to something lighter. The dark green makes it unreadable.

One of the possible reason is that your browser might be on Dark Mode

You may try to customize your profile to a lighter theme by following these steps:

  1. Go to the settings or options menu in your browser. This is typically indicated by three dots or lines in the upper-right corner of the browser window.
  2. Click "You and Google."
  3. Click "Customize your Chrome profile."
  4. Choose a lighter theme.
