Any way to scheddule TM to update imediately after boot?

I use my PC only 20-30 min every day; this is too short for TM to automatically update , so after 1 week I had no updates and I had to manually update.

If I leave the PC ON for 2-4 hours TM updates, but would be nice to update immediately after boot.

Any way I can create a task in Task Scheduler????

I update my PC when I start it in the morning.  Just click on the TM icon and click "check for updates" in the pop-up menu.  I hope this helps.

@woodartisan55

Thanks!

I do that, but I hopped somehow I can create a Task in Task Scheduler and run the update after boot automatically, without "clicking" anything...

Anyone from TM cares to provide an opinion, please?

Hi, claudiabotezatu.

The program updates cannot be scheduled since it is automatically done by your Trend Micro Security software every 3 hours provided that the computer is on and connected to the internet.

Thank you for your answer!

If somebody (like me) uses the PC only 1 hour daily, TM still updates?????How is counting the 3 hours interval? (from last update or from the time the PC is ON?)

Hi, claudiabotezatu.

Yes, the program will still update. The Trend Micro program will automatically check and install updates after 10 minutes upon start-up of your device. The program will also install updates every 3 hours.

"The Trend Micro program will automatically check and install updates after 10 minutes upon start-up of your device"

So , basically, a PC which was OFF for a month may run for first 10 minutes with well out-of-date definitions ;

What is the rationale of such approach???? Why not update immediately after start-up?????

Hi, claudiabotezatu

That is the default. But we can try suggesting it to our developers for future versions. Trend Micro program will start the update 10 minutes upon start of device to avoid having conflict with other programs updates.

Let us know if you need more help.

I actually hate that it does not update as soon as you start the program. I too have a laptop that I notice stays out of date on definitions because I turn it on for 5 min or so once every couple weeks.
