Sexually Graphic Texts and Websites

I keep getting pornographic texts with what appears to be "website addresses" included. I never open them, but I go to their "number" and block the caller. The other day I was on the internet on my Mac and a message popped up saying that 13 pornographic websites had been contacted. I thought it was a fishing expedition and just deleted it. Yesterday, I was texting with a friend and a flithy message popped up on both our phones in the message thread we had just created. No name, no number. My friend texted me immediately asking if I sent that. I knew better, but asked anyway if they had sent it. I now am getting nervous. My security package supposedly covers my Mac, iPad and iPhone. How did this come through, are they getting two factor authentication codes for say Amazon or my bank, my passwords, and how do I solve this problem? A new phone doesn't seem to solve the problem, they seem to have my number!

Hi, bkruzin

Avoid opening spam messages and text scams. Never reply and don't click any links from these messages. Have you tried to report the numbers? Here's how you can report spam on Android:

How to report spam or junk on an IOS phone

Please check if the Trend Micro Fraud Buster is enabled on your device, it checks your messages for security threats whenever you receive an SMS or MMS. Here's how:

  1. Open the Mobile Security app.
  2. From the list of features, select Fraud Buster
  3. Allow all the needed permissions.
  4. Read the Fraud Buster Data Collection, then tap Accept.
  5. Toggle the switch to ON beside the Fraud Buster.

Please make sure that the Trend Micro app is updated. You may follow this link on how to upgrade Mobile Security for iOS to its latest version.

Let us know how it goes.

my iPhone warns that if you enable the SMS  filtering that security will receive messages not in your contacts and that will include codes from two factor authentication. So I’ve never turned that on.

they tell you not to open link to website, but to go to the message, click on info, and then block caller - which is what I have done for these as well as the te ta for bank or cash loans🙄

Thank you for your response, bkruzin

Have you tried to report it to your provider? Did you also sign-up on any website that asks for your Mobile Number?

Please also provide us the following information:

1. Model of your phone and its OS version

2. Version of Trend Micro installed

3. Screenshots of the problem if possible

Awaiting for your response.
