Trend Micro attempts to install toolbar into browser without permission

Just got a notification from Chrome that Trend Micro was attempting to install a tool bar and make other changes. It did this without my authorization.

I don't think that's a good idea.

Apologies for the inconveniences, listskirk

Trend Micro Toolbar warns you about security risks with the websites you try to visit. It will show you the page rating when you hover your mouse over a website link from the search result. You can read more information about this feature on this link: How Trend Micro Toolbar works on Windows.

It will be installed on your device without your permission. You'll see a pop-up from Trend Micro to enable it or a pop-up if you want to install the Toolbar. Please try follow these steps to enable the toolbar from Google Chrome Extensions:

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. On the upper right corner of your Google Chrome browser, click the ⋮ button.
  3. Select More Tools, then click Extensions.
  4. Tick the Enable box beside the Trend Micro entry.
You should now see the toolbar.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more assistance.
