continuous scanning

My I Mac went into scan mode 3 days ago and has been in scan mode, actively scanning files, since then. Is this normal/OK?

Hi, johnarnold0001.

Kindly provide the following information so we can further check on this:

1. macOS version:

2. Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac version

You can also try to restart the program's components then check if the scan would still work that long. Here's how:

1. Open Spotlight, type Trend Micro Antivirus Diagnostic Toolkit, then press RETURN.

2. On the General tab, select Stop Components.

3. After 3-5 seconds, click Start Components.

4. Open the Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac then do a scan.

Shortly after my post the scan was completed, no threats found.  I did have to click cancel on the pop up to get that to clear and the tool bar icon to revert to the basic logo.  Computer is and has been working normally.  I am inclined to watch and wait to see if this happens again.
