Before the end of 2018 and up until now, we have been receiving numerous reports of yet another phishing method received through email. These email scams aim to get the user's personal information then use this information later on to blackmail the user. Thank you for sharing and thank you for being aware of the technical support scam. What you have received is indeed a scam email, specifically a phishing email. They are designed to look like they’re from a company you know or trust. There are multiple ways to know if the email is legitimate one of the few are by judging the email address, use of generic language and lack of specific details about the recipient are good indicators that it’s a hoax. 

 

It is recommended to not do any of the actions they have stated as it would often lead into the scammers having access to your personal information and coerce you into paying for their fraudulent services.
